About
Hi, I'm Anthony. I'm a writer and consultant based in Auckland, New Zealand.
I'm deep in AI - but I care about it a lot more than just what it can do.
I look under the hood of AI systems to understand how they actually work. I evaluate the commercial logic of how organisations deploy AI at scale - and the governance frameworks often playing catch up. I scrutinise who controls the infrastructure AI runs on and what it means for institutional power at scale.
These are the challenges worth solving and the ones I'm building my career around - the ones too commercial for policy people, too political for technologists, and too technical for business people. My goal is to act as a translator: to reason across it all and make it legible.
Background
I recently graduated with a BCom in Information Systems from the University of Auckland, including a capstone project on AI procurement strategy in the public sector for Microsoft NZ - our group finished top of the cohort and were invited to present to Microsoft directly.
I've spent three years at Nui Markets, an agri-commodities tech startup, where I currently own AI process design and implementation. I've always been drawn to the startup world and working inside one has given me a grounding in the commercial reality that sits behind the bigger ideas I write about.
In early 2027, I'll be joining Deloitte NZ in Tech, Strategy & Transformation. Before that, I'm spending five months travelling across Europe and Asia - structured around cultural immersion and scoping cities I might live and work in later.
Outside of work, I'm usually playing badminton, bouldering, or singing tenor with the Auckland Youth Choir - and genuinely enjoying the chance to meet people from all walks of life along the way. I'm always excited to learn and connect with others who share an interest in AI, business, and geopolitics. Feel free to reach out.
